Protocol 01: Data Sovereignty & Privacy

At Equilibrium Works, we understand that information is an extension of the self. In an era of non-linear algorithms and quantum governance, protecting your digital resonance is not merely a compliance requirement—it is a structural necessity. Below is our protocol for handling your data with the precision of law and the respect for entropy.

1. The Observer Effect (Data Collection)

When you interact with our systems, certain data points are crystallized to ensure the stability of the connection. We collect strictly necessary information to maintain the equilibrium of the service:

• Voluntary Signal: Information you explicitly provide (Name, Email, Message content) via contact forms or direct correspondence.
• Technical Metadata: IP address, browser user agent string, and timezone settings. This is used solely for security, spam detection, and ensuring the site renders correctly on your device.

2. Comments & Digital Footprints

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.

3. Cookies (Temporary States)

We use cookies not to track your soul, but to preserve your session state. If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your details in cookies for convenience (duration: 1 year). Login cookies last for two days; screen options cookies last for a year.

4. Embedded Reality (Third-Party Content)

Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Comments: Retained indefinitely to recognize follow-up comments automatically.
Registered Users: We store the personal information provided in user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (username excepted).

6. Your Rights (User Sovereignty)

Under the Universal Data Protection frameworks (including GDPR), you hold the following rights over your data:

• Right to Access: Request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Erasure (The “Right to be Forgotten”): Request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, excluding data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
• Right to Rectification: Correct any inaccuracies in your data.
